Class Description


In this course the participants learn different tools for creating an original character for stage or screen.


Some areas we will dive in to:
Physicality – Experimenting with altering one’s own physicality inspired by animals and imagery in order to find the character’s way of moving and doing tasks.
Place – Where do we find the character and what is the environment around them like? What is their world? Get ready to imagine.
Mind – Getting to know the characters better though drawing and short writing exercises.
Text – Through short writing exercises we will create original monologues.
Voice – Introducing the characters voice through vocal exploration, using the monologues we wrote.
Appearance – Finding how the character dresses itself through physical and drawing exercises.


Class Requirements


– Some space (doesn’t have to be big) to move around in
– Clothes that allow you to move freely


Class Supplies


– Notebook and pen
– Costume and props (you can play with whatever you have at home already)



Do I need acting experience to take this course?

No, all levels are welcome. All I ask is that you bring an open mind and willingness to learn and discover.
