Intermediate ESL Through Popular Media
Kids love video games, TV, and movies. This class allows them to work on their English vocabulary and grammar skills by relating them to familiar media topics. I allow flexibility for the students to help decide what they would like to learn and which topics they most want to use as tools for covering these lessons.
This class is intended for students learning English as a second language who have some of the basics down, such as simple present and simple past, enough vocabulary to hold a basic English conversation, and enough writing skill to be legible.
Students should come prepared with a dedicated notebook, a sharp pencil, and an eraser to easily make changes to their writing choices.
-Get to know each other
-Discuss class rules, goals, and any particular topics the students would like to talk about – all form of media are up for discussion and may be changed as the class decides
